For the past century, Ranchi, once the capital of undivided Bihar, has been synonymous with mental health care. In Kanke, on the outskirts of Ranchi, one hundred years ago, two of the most important mental hospitals in the country were constructed in close proximity to one another. The Central Institute of Psychiatry in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, is a leading facility for conditions related to mental health. On May 17, 1918, the British established this hospital. The European Lunatic Asylum of Ranchi was its initial name. CIP Ranchi has come a long way over the past 100 years, going through many changes and evolving into a comprehensive center for the delivery of mental health services. It has been responsible for numerous innovations in mental health and neurosciences, including clinical services, cutting-edge research, and workforce training throughout the nation.
CIP, which is situated on 211 acres in the picturesque city of Ranchi, provides the most recent medical advancements in a setting that encourages mental health and well-being. This hospital only provided services to European patients up until its independence. “The Ranchi European Mental Hospital is the only mental hospital in India that is intended solely for the treatment of persons of either European or American parentage,” Col. Berkeley-Hill stated. Asian and African nationals are ineligible for admission. Persons of mixed parentage, such as Anglo-Indian or Anglo-African, are included in the term “European,” and the majority of patients belong to the former.
CIP Ranchi PG Entrance Exam Pattern 2024
Examination Pattern for the CIP Ranchi PG can as follows.
Group A – For a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology
The entrance exam will consist of 100 MCQ-type questions that must be answered within 60 minutes. Interviews and practical will be held with the shortlisted candidates. MA/M.Sc.-related questions will be on the test. For each incorrect response, there will be a negative marking of 0.25.
