Initially, a single state-level organization known as the Director of Public Instruction (DPI) was in charge of all educational stages, including medical and technical. In 1874, this Directorate was established. Following that, separate structures were established for various levels of education, such as medical and technical, while the DPI was solely responsible for general education. Elementary Education was separated from the DPI on September 5, 1975, and a separate Directorate for Elementary Education was established on September 7, 1977. Selection Process of DSE Recruitment
The candidates for this recruitment will be shortlisted by Secondary Education, Assam based on the following criteria. The candidates’ performance in a variety of life assessments will be the sole consideration in the selection process. | Marks 100 on the percentage of marks in BA/ B.Sc./ B.Com Examination (In the case of Major/ Hons, the marks obtained in Major/ Hons shall be taken into consideration). |
| 100 marks on the percentage of marks in BT/B.Ed. Examination. |
| 60 points for 15 years of experience as a graduate teacher in a provincialized high school or higher secondary school with the necessary academic and professional qualifications, or 100 points for a percentage of marks on the TET Examination. If a teacher has been in the profession for at least 15 years but failed to earn the required 60 points on the TET, they will still receive 60 points for their experience. Any imprints got by such experienced educator well beyond 60 qualifying marks in TET will be included furthermore in regard of TET for such educator with the end goal of determination for the post of Post Graduate Instructor. |
