Meghalaya Board of School Education, Tura also termed MBOSE is the state board authority for conduction of Senior Secondary Leaving Certificate (SSLC) for class 10th and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) for class 12th. The board came into existence on 25th September 1973 under the Meghalaya State Education Act,1973. MBOSE conducted its first SSLC examination in 1974.
