Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana 2024

Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana has been started by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Tirath Singh Rawat, for the children of the state whose parents or guardians have died due to corona virus infection. Through this scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 3000 per month will be provided to all such children in the form of maintenance allowance. This financial assistance will be provided to the children till the age of 21 years. So that he can feed himself and become self-sufficient. This financial assistance will be sent to the account of all eligible children through Direct Benefit Transfer. Rs 12 crore transferred to 6000 children under Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday distributed Rs 12 crore to 6000 eligible children under the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana. Under this scheme, funds were transferred online to the accounts of 6,000 children of the state. Transferring funds under Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana, the Chief Minister said that social cooperation would also be provided to help orphans.

And said that along with the formulation of street children policy, the possibilities of formation of state level scholarship trust will also be explored. He said that our aim is to help the suffering, helpless and needy people of the state. Apart from this, the Chief Minister directed the constitution of a task force at the district level under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate to focus on the effective implementation of the PNDT Act in the state to improve the sex ratio.

Extension of date of application under the scheme

As you all know, the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana was started for the children who have lost their parents or guardians due to Corona pandemic and other diseases. Now the date of application under this scheme has been extended for two more months. All eligible beneficiaries can apply till the end of May to take advantage of this scheme. The date of first application under this scheme was kept by the government on March 31, 2022. The state government had announced the launch of this scheme on August 2, 2021 last year. Through this scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 3000 per month will be provided to the eligible children till the age of 21 years and their education, nutrition and protection will also be done.

5% reservation will also be given in government jobs

So far 4057 children have been benefited under this scheme. The government has also made arrangements for 5% reservation in government jobs for all eligible children. Apart from this, the Uttarakhand government is also paying attention to the skill development of all these children. This scheme is being implemented under the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department. Due to the elections, the works under this scheme were stopped for some months. Due to which the eligible children could not apply. Keeping this in mind, the date of application has been extended by the government. Instructions have also been given to the district officials that as soon as the applications of all the eligible children are received, the work of verification should be completed immediately.

Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana launch

Children orphaned due to Kovid-19 in the state will be given the benefit of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana. The benefit of this scheme will be directly transferred to the account of the beneficiaries through DBT. This scheme has been launched on 2 August 2021 by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. There are many children of the state who have become orphans and there are many children who have lost one of their parents. 2311 such children have been identified by the department. But now only 27% children are being provided the benefit of this scheme. Verification will be done by the District Magistrate to provide the benefit of this scheme to the children.

So far the verification process of 640 children has been completed and the process of verification of remaining children is still going on. The accounts of all these children have also been opened. As soon as the verification process of other children is completed, the other identified children will start getting benefits.

The scope of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana will be increase

The government has also decided to increase the scope of the scheme. Now the benefit of Mu Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana will be provided even if one of the parents or both dies due to diseases other than Kovid-19. This decision has been taken because some persons had died before getting tested for Covid. In this situation, such children who have become orphans during the Corona period will also be given the benefit of this scheme. The benefit of this scheme will be provided to the affected children from birth to 21 years.

A total of 2347 children have been selected from March 2020 to March 2021. All these children will be linked to this scheme. 561 children have been selected in Dehradun, 249 in Tehri Garhwal, 242 in Udham Singh Nagar, 230 in Haridwar, 213 in Pauri Garhwal, 185 in Nainital, 120 in Uttarkashi. Many children have also been selected in other districts whose verification process is still going on.

Mandate of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana issue

As you all know, through the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana, it has been started to provide social and economic assistance to the children orphaned due to corona virus infection. On June 9, 2021, the proposal of this scheme has been passed in the cabinet. After which the mandate of this scheme has been issued by the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development on 13 June 2021. Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana 2024 will be implemented from 1 March 2020 to 31 March 2022. In which after March 2020, children orphaned due to corona virus infection and other diseases will be given the benefit of this scheme till the age of 21 years.

The benefit of this scheme will also be provided to those children whose one of the parents or guardian has died due to corona virus infection. Apart from this, care, rehabilitation, protection of movable and immovable property etc. of all affected children will also be provided through this scheme. The approval of this plan has also been granted by the Rajpal. Soon separate guidelines will be issued for the implementation of this scheme.

Identification of about 200 beneficiaries in District Dehradun

So that all these children can be given the benefit of this scheme. About 200 children have been identified so far in the entire district. This information has been provided by District Probation Officer Meena Bisht. This database is being obtained with the help of officials like Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Child Development Project Officer and Anganwadi worker. All these officers are collecting information of all eligible beneficiaries in their respective areas. Apart from this, information of beneficiary children is also being provided through various e-mails and calls.

Various media outlets have also been taken by the administration to spread awareness related to Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana 2024. The scheme has been widely publicized by these media outlets. Due to which the information of such children is reaching the authorities. Within about 15 days, the data of more than 200 such children has been collected. Apart from this, an appeal has also been made by the administration to all the citizens to convey the information of all such children to the authorities. So that the benefit of this scheme can be extended to all the eligible children.
