About Surat Municipal Health Workers
One of Surat’s historic structures, the building that Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) currently uses as an office complex was initially constructed as a “Sarai” or Muzaffar khan (traveler’s inn). It was constructed in 1644 AD, during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, and was commonly referred to as “Mughal Sarai.” The same structure served as a jail throughout the 18th century. The current corporation has occupied the building since 1867.
This building, which has impressive architectural features, is still standing and in excellent preservation. This is due to the skillful composition of its various parts, as well as the harmonious combination of arches, cornices, decorate parapets, sculpture patterns on the exterior face, etc. Each of these features was placed artistically and effectively upon a solid foundation with cogent strength.

Educational Qualification
Female Health Worker (FHW)
- Syd 10th pass
- must have successfully completed a government-approved institute’s Female Health Worker Basic Training Course.
- Must be a graduate of an Indian Nursing Council-recognized institution and registered with ANM and the Gujarat Nursing Council.
Multi Purpose Health Worker (MPHW)
- Syd 10th pass
- A government-recognized institution’s one-year Multi Purpose Worker Course.
Female Health Supervisor
- Syd 10th pass
- Female health workers must have completed a basic training programmer from a government-approved institution.
- ANM and Gujarat Nursing Council registration required from an institution accredited by the Indian Nursing Council.
- a minimum of three years of experience as a female health worker (FHW).
Age Limit
35 Years and Age composure will be as per rules.
