Education

Ashish Arora, who is now known as Amogh Lila Das, was born in Lucknow to a Punjabi family. He says he had a strong spiritual urge since he was young. He ran away from home in 2000 when he was studying in Class 12 to find God. But he came back and decided to study software engineering. He graduated from the Delhi College of Engineering, now the Delhi Technological University, in 2004 with a B.Tech degree in computer science.

Career and Sprituality

After finishing his studies, Amogh Lila Das worked as a software engineer for a US-based multinational company. He became a project manager before leaving his job in 2010, when he was 29 years old, to join the Hare Krishna movement. He took up the life of a Hare Krishna Brahmachari (celibate) by becoming a member of ISKCON. He is now the vice president of the ISKCON Temple in Dwarka, Delhi.

Amogh Lila Das has a large following on social media. His YouTube channel, ‘Reviving Values’, has 1.43 lakh subscribers and has got nearly 1.3 crore views since he started it in 2018. Controversy and Ban

Amogh Lila Das faced a backlash in July 2023 for making insulting comments about Swami Vivekananda and his guru Ramakrishna Paramhansa in one of his recent pravachans (discourses). He criticized Swami Vivekananda for eating fish, saying that a righteous man would never eat anything that hurts an animal. He also mocked Ramakrishna’s teaching of ‘joto mot toto poth (there are as many paths as there are opinions).
