About BPSC

According to the history of the Constitution of India, the plan of holding a competitive examination for appointment to particular positions was first consider in 1853 and in 1854, a committee led by Lord Macaulay was form to give shape to that idea. The Government of India Act of 1935 later accepted the Federal Public Service Commission as well as the State Public Service Commissions. On April 1, 1949, the Bihar Public Service Commission was establish following its disconnection from the Commission for the States of Orissa & Madhya Pradesh in accordance with subsection of section 261 of the Government of India Act of 1935, as amend. The Indian Constitution was confirm on January 26, 1950, establishing it as a constitutional entity.

According to Article 315 of the Indian charter, it is a constitutional body. Ranchi served as the primary location from which the Bihar Public Service Commission initially began its work for the State of Bihar. The State Government decided to move the Commission’s headquarters from Ranchi to Patna; the move took place on March 1, 1951. Shri Rajandhari Sinha served as the Bihar Public Service Commission’s first chairman. Shri Radha Krishna Choudhary served as the Commission’s first Secretary. The State of Bihar draft the Bihar Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1960, to replace the Regulation that was published with the Appointment Department’s notification number.

This was done in the exercise of the powers granted by Article 318 of the Indian Constitution. Dated March 31, 1953, A-2654. A Chairman and ten other members were appoint to the Commission in accordance with Rule 3 of the 1960 Regulations. Following the bifurcation of the states of Bihar and Jharkhand, the number of members was reduce to six (six). 7/PSC-1013/95 Per 8262 of the Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department, Bihar, dated October 9, 2002.

BPSC 68th Exam Pattern 2024

BPSC 68th CCE Prelims will take place in offline mode through the Optical Mark Recognition Sheet across the State in all 38 districts at various examination canters. In the preliminary paper, a total of 150 multiple-choice questions are going to be ask from General learning. Applicants will get a total time duration 02 hours to answer all questions, each question will carry 1 number and there will be no negative marking. Language of the inquiry paper will be in English & Hindi.
