Uma Harathi N:- A 28-year-old girl from Telangana, has achieved the remarkable feat of securing the All India Rank 3 in the UPSC IAS examination of 2022. She scored 1060 out of 2025 marks in the exam.
Which is considered one of the most prestigious and challenging in the country. She also obtained the first rank in Telangana and became the topper among the candidates from the state.

Uma Followed her father’s footsteps, who is an IPS officer in the Narayanpet district of Telangana. She was inspired by his service and contribution to the society and decided to pursue her dream of becoming an IAS officer.

Uma Harathi N Bio
Uma Harathi N comes from Telangana and has a Civil Engineering degree. Her family was instrumental in her success; they supported her like a strong pillar. Her father is the superintendent of police of Narayanpet district at present. And her mother is a stay-at-home mom. Her father inspired her to pursue the civil Services.
Age
As per the reports, Uma Harathi N is around 27 or 28 years old. She is a woman of great diligence. Uma never gives up and achieves the third rank in the Union Public Service Commission exam, which was her fifth attempt. She had to overcome many challenges during her preparation and attempts, but her hard work finally paid off.
State
Uma grew up in the state of Telangana. Out of the top 25 candidates of UPSC results this year, there are more women (14) than men (11). The UPSC exam is held annually with three stages: preliminary, main and interview, to select officers for various services like IAS, IFS and IPS. The top rank holders have chosen different optional subjects and have had different journeys.

Education
Uma Harathi N pursued B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT-Hyderabad before preparing for UPSC. She started her civil services journey after finishing her degree. Uma opted for Anthropology as her optional subject and cleared the UPSC exam. She also worked for an online Civil Services Coaching Institute for about half a year after her studies. She visited Japan for a cultural Exchange Program for 15 days as well.
Future Plan
Uma Harathi N has become a probationer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). She said that this service was her interest and also that it would offer her a lot of scope and responsibility in the future. She said that she was eager to acquire new knowledge and discover new possibilities in this field.
Uma Harathi N has a bright future ahead of her. She said that she plans to work in the areas of women empowerment, education, health, and rural development. She also said that she wants to contribute to the society and the nation through her skills and knowledge.
