Alagappa University:- In May 1985, the Tamil Nadu government passed a Special Act, founding Alagappa University in Karaikudi. The university comprises 46 Affiliated Colleges spread over the districts of Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram, in addition to 44 Departments, 9 Centers, and 2 Constituent Colleges on its campus. The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India has granted recognition to Alagappa University. According to the QS World Ranking 2024, the university is now rated 51st among South Asian universities. In several subjects, the university also provides online and distance learning programs.
The university offers a wide range of courses at several academic levels, including undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate. The results of the qualifying test are used to decide who gets admitted to the undergraduate programs at Alagappa University.
