UPES Dehradun:- UPES Dehradun is the abbreviation for the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. The UPES Act of 2003 served as the foundation for the university. UPES is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and has been accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has a “A” grade from the NAAC for accreditation. UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli are two expansive 44-acre campuses located near Dehradun. UPES is ranked 52 for the University and 79 overall in the NIRF 2024 rankings.
Through its seven schools—the School of Engineering, the School of Computer Science, the School of Design, the School of Law, the School of Business, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of Modern Media—UPES provides more than twenty industry-aligned and specialized UG and PG programs. The flagship curriculum, available in 20 specialities, is UPES B.Tech.
UPES Dehradun
The university’s JEE Main or UPESEAT exam is used to determine who gets into the B.Tech program. The program costs INR 15.21 lakhs in total. UPES Dehradun Highlights 2024
The Uttarakhand State Legislature’s UPES Act created UPES University in 2003. Students in the Management, Engineering, and Science streams can choose from UG, PG, PhD, and other courses offered by UPES University through its nine schools of study. According to QS Asia University Rankings 2024, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is placed ninth in the category of Universities Overall. Online applications are available for all UG and PG programmes that UPES offers. It is recommended that students apply for the courses provided by UPES by following the processes stated below: Online Request Form:
- Go to the UPES website and select the “UPES Admission” tab from the navigation bar.
- Select the option labeled “Online Application Form” by clicking on it.
- Select if you are an Indian resident or a foreign resident by clicking on it.
- After completing the required fields, click “Submit.”
- Following the submission of your form, UPES will send you an email asking you to confirm your email address and register for an account on their website.

UPES B.Sc and M.Sc Admission 2024
The institution provides a two-year postgraduate M.Sc. program, as well as a three-year undergraduate program in B.Sc. and B.Sc. B.Tech Scholarships

Merit-Based Scholarship
Students who have an overall grade point average of 80% in grades X and XII and 80% in PCM for their B.Tech are eligible for the award. There will only be 10% of seats available for scholarships in each B.Tech program. Scholarships will be awarded to qualified applicants based on merit for the first semester. Furthermore, the scholarships will only be given out on the basis of merit, and their continuance in future years will follow university policy. Half of the first semester’s tuition is covered by the scholarship.
Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers
The Uttarakhand State Board allocates one seat each program in merit order. The 15% quota set aside for students who live in Uttarakhand shall apply to the seats designated under this category. The “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate) is a requirement for the candidates. The students can only receive one scholarship at a time, either from the Uttarakhand Resident category or the Uttarakhand Board Toppers category. Academic Scholarship
Up to 50% of the merit-based scholarships offered by UPES Dehradun are designated for female students. Students who have taken the UPES entrance exams and applied for admission to UPES courses will be eligible for the award. But only students who have fulfilled the requirements listed below for the first semester—and any further renewals, if applicable—will be given the scholarship. The following are the requirements for the same:
Scholarship Criteria
Academic scholarships will be given to the top 10% of UPES Entrance Exam scorers. UPES retains the authority to hold admission examinations in more than one round, and the merit list for each round will be created independently. In the event that the top performer declines the scholarship for whatever reason, UPES has the exclusive right to determine who will be considered for the scholarship next in line among the top 10. Up to 1900 scholarships are offered in total; 950 of those are designated specifically for girls, or 50% of the total number. The remaining scholarships are accessible to all applicants, boys and girls alike.
Scholarship Benefit
Scholarships ranging from 20% to 100% of first semester tuition will be given out. UPES Dehradun alone has the authority to decide whether to extend scholarships for the remaining semesters.

Alumni Scholarship
For the whole program, the scholarship is only eligible on a 35% tuition cost waiver. No other award will be given under this program or combined with this scholarship. There won’t be an alumni fee, and the scholarship will only be renewed the next year if the student maintains a minimum SGPA/CGPA of 8 and has no outstanding disciplinary cases or reports against them. This scholarship is available to:
- All alumni who graduated in 2017 and after are eligible. The department of alumni relations will submit a case for special clearance to the scholarship committee on behalf of any alumnus who graduated before to 2017.

Online applications are available for all UG and PG programmes that UPES offers. It is recommended that students apply for the courses provided by UPES by following the processes stated below: Online Request Form.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Des Course
- To be eligible to take the UPES DAT 2024 entrance test, candidates must pass class 12 from an accredited school board with a minimum of 50% in both class 10 and class 12, as well as a minimum of 50% in the combined subjects of math, chemistry, and physics.
- It is also possible for candidates to be admitted to the UPES DAT B.Des course without taking the test. They must meet one of the qualifying requirements listed below in order to do this:
- Candidates must have earned a minimum of 65% in both Class 10 and Class 12. Or candidates must pass the JEE MAIN or UCEED test and get at least 50% in classes 10 and 12.

UPES DAT 2024 Result
The UPES DAT 2024 Result will be released shortly after the test is over. For the B.Des. and M.Des. programs, the list of selected applicants will be announced on the university’s official website. Applicants can see their results by entering their application and roll number on the www.upes.ac.in website. Exam-qualified students will get calls for counseling and the presentation of their work portfolios. During the interview, all required paperwork and the portfolio must be submitted, and all admissions-related procedures will only be finished then.
UPEC DAT 2024 Cut off
Soon after the results are announced, UPES will release the UPES DAT 2024 deadline for admission to B.Des courses for the 2023–2024 session.
